- ‘Unfriend’ is New Oxford dictionary’s Word of the Year. It beat out such gems as “sexting,” “death panel,” “birther,” “teabagger” and of course everyone’s favorite “tramp stamp”
- The cold war between the Obama White House and Fox News Channel may finally be done. Major Garrett will sit down with the Prez for an interview Wednesday night.
- It may have had something to do with this: A new report suggests that Fox News Channel actually does live up to its “Fair and Balanced” motto.
- There’s a new nay-sayer on Obamacare: China is now saying President Obama’s pet project may be just a tad too expensive. That is literally like the bank calling you up and saying “Do you really think you can afford that new car?”
- The White House is blaming human error for all of the non-existent jobs at Recovery.org. 60,000 jobs is “human error.” Right. But there’s good news, Joe Biden is on the case and is going to straighten the whole thing out.
- Sarah Palin told Barbara Walters that she wants to play a role in national politics if we’ll have her. Will we have her? Palin is also doubling down on the death panels.
- How bad are things in Detroit? They just sold the Silverdome… for $583,000. Could you even get a decent condo downtown for $583,000?
- Senator Robert Byrd is now the longest serving member of Congress. Is this really something to celebrate? a) The guy can barely move or talk, so it’s not like he’s doing the most effective job of serving the state of West Virginia. b) 9 terms? Really? That’s not a career politician, that’s a lifetime politician. Voters have to have higher standards than that.
- The battle between Todd Stroger and the Cook County Board rages on. Today the board voted 12-5 to reduce the county sales tax by a half-cent. How will you spend your extra half cent?
- It turns out that Macs are no safer than PC’s when it comes to phishing attacks. I say it’s about time someone took those snooty Mac owners down a peg.
- Worst email mistake in history: Two Cornell University employees who were having an affair accidentally sent out a steamy email to the general email list for their entire department.
