Thurs. Show Prep – Transient Global Amnesia Edtion
- Alice has Transient Global Amnesia. It’s a syndrome where people get temporary and partial amnesia after sex. You remember who you are but forget a lot of simple, obvious things, like who the President is, what day it is or what happened in the series finale of Battlestar Galactica.
- Election reaction: The Man of Steele says that voters have officially rejected President Obama’s policies. On the other hand, the White House says that the sweeping Republican victories were actually an endorsement of President Obama’s policies.
- There’s a dirty little secret in the health care bill. They’re counting on a lot of people paying fines rather than buying coverage. That fine money is a key part of financing the government option. If too many people DO buy coverage, there’s a hole in the budget.
- Mother of The Year: A woman left her kids with a babysitter, saying that when she and dad got back from dinner they would take the kids trick-or-treating. They didn’t come back until Tuesday. Her defense? “I’m 24 and can do what I want”
- End of the road? Analysts say that the newspaper industry is running out of costs to cut and will have to show actual revenue increases now to maintain earnings to satisfy investors. It’s a shame Clear Channel isn’t in the newspaper industry, I’m sure they could come up with a few more cuts to make.
- Here’s a survey of how moms are cutting back on household spending in the Obama economy. They say that most of the cutbacks in their own clothing or cosmetics and not in food quality or clothing for their kids. Do you believe that, or do you think the moms just don’t want to say that they are forcing their kids to wear a barrel to school?
- An end of houses of squalor or big brother targeting cat lovers? Dudley, MA has made it illegal to own more than three cats without a license.
- You’re a major league baseball player about to hit free agency, what do you do in the offseason to try to increase your value to teams that may want to sign you? If you’re Vicente Padilla, you shoot yourself in the leg. If only Milton Bradley had tried that strategy last winter.
