Mon. Show Prep – Calorie Counting Edition
- The most controversial thing written into the health care bill may not be the death panels… buried in section 2572 is a provision that would require all fast food restaurants and vending machines to display calorie counts for all of their food.
- Christmas parties are a notable casualty of the economic downturn. Obviously it’s a way to save money. A lot of times when things like that disappear they never come back. Would you miss them if Christmas parties went away forever?
- Faulty doors at Cook County Jail let inmates fight each other. Aren’t prisons the one place where we definitely want to make sure that the doors work the way they are supposed to?
- According to psychologists, social media rejection can be as much of a bruise to the old ego as actual rejection. Something to think about the next time you get an anonymous friend request on Facebook.
- Remember when the Lockerbie bomber was released for humanitarian reasons because he only had three months to live? Well that was three months ago and not only is he still alive, but he has shown no deterioration in health either. Looks like the Brits may have been had. How long does he get to live before he should get thrown back in the slammer?
- How bad are things at the Securities and Exchange Commission? Even Bernie Madoff was surprised at just how long he was able to get away with his ponzi scheme.
- On Fox News Sunday, Rush Limbaugh predicted that President Obama will be a one-term President.
- Good news: With Iraq and Afghanistan both going so well, now China is arming like there is a sale at Fast Eddie’s Shoulder-Fired Rocket Emporium.
- From the “What if Bush had done it?” file: The Obama administration wants a wiretapping lawsuit thrown out. They say it could jeopardize national security.
- Speaking of national security, there are 400,000 people on the Terrorist Watch List. Should we be keeping an eye on you?
- Criminal or genius? This mechanic allegedly picked up some side cash by disabling cars parked at a restaurant and then just happening to be there when the people came out, charging between $50 and $200 to start their cars. Times are tough, you gotta do what you gotta do.
