- President Obama scraps the missile defense shield plans for Eastern Europe. Joe Biden says we have nothing to worry about in the world. On the other hand, Mitt Romney says scrapping it is “wrong in every way.” By the way, this just happens to have come on the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Poland.
- Good news on the health care front: Some centrist Dems are starting to reach out to the GOP to talk about their plans.
- It’s not just Glenn Beck: President Obama’s czars have become such a problem that even Russ Feingold is asking him to tone it down. (Added bonus – story features a picture of Feingold looking a little like Mussolini)
- ACORN Roundup: Minnestoa Governor Tim Pawlenty has joined Schwarzenegger in calling for an investigation of his states ties to ACORN. Apparently they won’t find anything wrong at all, because Acorn’s chief organizer Bertha Lewis says they ”comply with all laws everywhere.” The House has followed the Senate’s lead and voted to defund ACORN today. On the political front Jeb Bush (he’s the Bush brother we all still like) says that ACORN could be a big problem for the Dems come election night 2010.
- America is still rejecting Jimmy Carter after all these years: A new poll says that 65 percent think opposition to Obama’s policies is based on honest disagreements, while 20 percent say it is mostly motivated by racism.
- Good news: Atomic watchdog says Iran has ability to make nuclear bomb, developing missile system to carry it. Good thing we’re scrapping the missile defense shield.
- Freaky deaky story of the day: Woman who was blind for nine years can see again. Her doctors took one of her teeth, drilled a hole in it, but a lense in said hole and put the whole thing in her eye socket. Which doctor do you suppose came up with that idea? Why a tooth?
- According to a study, teen birth rates are higher in highly conservative or “religious” states. Also, many of these are lower income and States with less educated citizens. No word on how many of them live in trailer parks or are married to their cousin.
- IOC President says that Obama doesn’t have to come to Denmark if he doesn’t want to.
- Death of the American male: Men now account for 40% of all eyebrow grooming procedures.
- America’s love affair with socialized medicine continues: 45% of doctors would consider quitting if Congress passes health care overhaul.
