- MSNBC: The economy is still struggling along, but most people still don’t want to sacrifice their vacations. One way people are saving money is by going with a group of their friends. I like the idea… your thoughts?
- St. Pete Times: The Billy Mays autopsy finds that he most likely died from heart disease, not the bump on the noggin. The plane incident was just a very strange coincidence. It’s also interesting that those results were released before MJ’s.
- TOL: Apparently Queen Elizabeth is almost broke. She had somewhere in the neighborhood of $55 million in the bank last year, but had to spend about $9 million of it just to cover her staff’s salary. At that rate she’ll be broke faster than Barack Obama. I may have a solution. Obviously someone has to fill the shoes of legendary TV pitchman Bill Mays. Couldn’t you just see her clad in a blue shirt yelling “Queen Elizabeth here for OxyClean!”
- Washington Post: The Guardian Council in Iran announced its “final decision” on today, declaring that the election results giving Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a landslide victory were correct. I’m thinking that this could lead to a fresh round of protests.
- Guardian: Iraq has declared Monday a national holiday, planning festivals and celebrations, as it prepares to mark the end of the U.S. presence on the streets of its towns and cities, more than six years after the Iraq war began. As of Monday, 130,000 U.S. troops will be confined almost exclusively to American bases, leading up to the final U.S. departure in mid-2011—a milestone that’s been highly anticipated by Iraqi officials, who see it as a return to sovereignty.
