- Sun Times: A judge has told disgraced former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich that he can’t pound sand. He was requesting to head to Costa Rica so he could participate in “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.” Blago seems like the kind of person who would just try to go all Eric Rudolph and disappear in a Costa Rican jungle while the head dies down. Can you imagine how the judge must have responded to this request? Here’s a guy who tried to sell a US Senate seat and now he wants to leave the country for a while? Gee, there’s a tough decision. I would have also hit him with a fine for wasting the court’s valuable time.
- BBC News: Scientists have discovered yet another planet outside of our solar system. It’s only about twice the size of Earth, which makes it one of the smaller planets out there. Don’t start planning your vacation quite yet though, it’s too close to it’s star to support life as we know it.
- Globe & Mail: This should make for the most awkward lecture since my sociology professor tried to convince me that socialism was the way to go. Former Presidents Bush and Clinton will be making a joint appearance in Toronto. The topic will be “the events of the last 16 years.” Apparently they couldn’t come up with anything more vague. I believe this also marks the first time that both Bush and Clinton have been in Canada since the Vietnam War…
- Boston Herald: The fiancee of the accused Craigslist killer says that he’s a good guy. Why is it that everyone always says “I never would have suspected him/her of foul play.”? Just once I’d like to hear someone say “I feared for my life whenever I was around them, I was just waiting for a chainsaw to come tearing through the wall.”
