
- AP: The state of Illinois is venturing into some uncharted territory: The impeachment trial of Governor Rod Blagojevich began today. Yes, somehow the state of Illinois has never impeached a governor. Most people would take this pretty seriously, but instead Blagojevich decided to go on the View. Barbara Walters was in LA but didn’t want to miss the interview, so we had the most absurd scene I’ve witnessed in quite some time, Blago talking to Babs on a TV. The best thing to come out of the day’s interviews was that the gov at one point considering appointing Oprah to the vacant Senate seat.
- FoxNews: We’ve become a society that just loves to pass the buck. Now we’ve learned that you someone many have actually given you fat. Obesity could be caused by a virus that spreads like the common cold. I don’t see how this could possibly be the case. After all if someone sneezes on me, I’m not very likely to immediately chow down on a Baconator.
- Reuters: Majel Barrett Roddenberry died shortly after the laid down her tracks for the new Star Trek movie. Now it turns out that both she and her late husband will be headed to the final frontier. The Roddenberrys’ ashes will be shot into space in about a year and a half.
- Financial Times: You thought last Tuesday was a bad one for jobs? Well it had nothing on today, 75,000 jobs completely disappeared today. Atlanta-based Home Depot trimmed 7,000 jobs by themselves.
