  • Politico: Joe Biden is in a little hot water after he slammed his own campaign’s ad mocking John McCain’s lack of internet savvy (McCain can’t use a computer because of his injuries in Vietnam), but the really big story was Biden’s criticism of the White House’s response to the financial meltdown. Biden said that back in 1929, FDR was on TV immediately trying to calm people down. Ok two things Joe: a) FDR wasn’t President until 1933. b) About three people on the planet owned TV’s in 1929.  Just out of curiosity, can you imagine the uproar that would have resulted if McCain had claimed that FDR went on TV in 1929? Heck, there may have been an ad with that line on TV within hours. I’m just sayin’.
  • UPI: Remember that woman who was caught on a security camera spraying her kid down with a high pressure hose? She’s getting one year of probation. Keep that in mind the next time your kids are acting up at or near a car wash, you can tell them the story and let them know that you could get away with that… once.
  • Washington Times: You had to know it would happen. The financial bailout bill that was going to be passed without an creative additions, has gotten a bunch of creative additions. Now it turns out I may not have to pay back my student loan after all. They’ve decided to add student debt as well as car debt. Since those are the only two things I owe, does that mean I’m free and clear?
  • WNBC: I thought I was done hearing about how historic and wonderful Yankee Stadium was. It turns out the NYPD has arrested more than a dozen people for taking pieces of The Stadium during the last game on Sunday night. If I were the New York Yankees I’d say no harm, no foul… until anything showed up on eBay. Then I’d nail them.
