ESPN: The relationship between the Green Bay Packers and the next QB for the Chicago Bears Brett Favre seems to be beyond repair. I figured that both parties would emerge from their meetigs with some sort of fair plan in place, but it sounds like the Packers really are committed to moving on. After at least three years of waiting through all of the “will he/won’t he” retirement drama, I can’t say that I blame them. I’m not all that familiar with the way contracts in the NFL work, if the Packers were feeling really ornery could they keep him on the active roster but completely bench him?
JS Online: Speaking of Wisconsin sports, Milwaukee Brewers’ Prince Fielder and Manny Parra were involved in a bit of a dugout fracas last night. You might call it a “Brew-haha”… I wouldn’t, but you might. It may seems as though the Brewers have hit rock bottom, but as Harvey Dent once said “the night is always darkest right before the dawn.” Remember that the Cubs looked like they were headed to another 90 loss season last year before Carlos Zambrano gave Michael Barrett a good throttling in the dugout.
AP: First Heath Ledger died, then Christian Bale was arrested for yelling at his mom, and now Morgan Freeman was in a serious car accident. He made it through surgery, and should be released from the hospital soon. Could there be some sort of “Dark Knight curse”? If there is I hope it skips over Gary Oldman… I like him. It can get Maggie Gyllenhaal though. The woman looks like a banana.
Bulletin: A British land developers dream of making a “Lord of the Rings”-themed subdivision has come to an end. The developement has been foreclosed. Which is geekier, the rare person who devotes millions of dollars in capital to building a Lord of the Rings-themed subdivision, or the even more rare person who actually buys one of the houses?
FoxNews: A death row inmate Ohio says has filed a lawsuit to delay his execution. Why? He says he’s too fat for Ole Squirty. Obviously I don’t think I’ll ever been in that position myself, but it’s nice to know that all you have to do to get out of it is gorge yourself in the prison cafeteria.
