Waukesha, WI - The Midwest Hurricane Center has released it’s first hurricane prediction report for Lake Michigan.

The MHC is predicting that there will be two to three named storms affecting the west side of the lake, including damage in both Wisconsin and Illinois.  The east side of the lake will see less damaging storms, but three to five of them will be strong enough to be named.

Midwest Hurricane Center director, Dr. Daniel J. Deibert says that even though Lake Michigan has never seen an actual hurricane, the effects of global warming on the upper midwest can not be ignored.  “No, at this time, we have no evidence.  None.  But that should not stop people from panicking, nor should it stop the media from reporting on these predictions like it means something.”

Asked why the MHC felt the need to issue this report, Dr. Deibert said “Why not?  Every year, the government and many universities spend a lot of money to put together their hurricane predictions and they never, ever come close.  In fact, they’ve been so wrong in the last few years that it’s laughable.  Our guess is just as good as theirs and it costs less.”

Hysterical. And sadly, all too true.
