Somehow I had managed not to post about this up until now, but Jericho will be making it’s triumphant return to the airwaves on February 12th… well, somewhat triumphant since they aren’t guaranteed anything past the seven episodes that they’ve filmed. The series was supposed to come back mid-season, so it seems like the date was probably picked before the WGA strike brought every other show to a halt.

Unless there is some sort of miraculous ratings boom for Jericho, it probably doesn’t stand much of a chance of coming back for a third season. Interestingly though, they might be helped by the writers strike, since they will be the only game in town for those of us who hate reality shows as far as new programming is concerned. Maybe that will help them make their mark.

CBS is doing their part. They’ve already released a promo for the new season… and again, since they will be the only drama with new episodes, it seems like they will have plenty of money to through at promoting Jericho.
